| Often used where space constraints preclude hinged doors, sliding watertight doors are available with either compression or inflatable gaskets, and can be designed for almost any pressure requirement. The door panel slides along top and bottom mounted tracks, and can be manually or power operated. Operation is from one or both sides.
A flush bottom sill can be achieved using a "P" style compression gasket and a roller mechanism that tilts the panel. The bottom frame for this type of door would be a flat bar for the sealing surface and an inverted angle to create a shallow track for the bottom rollers.
With an inflatable gasket sliding door, the sill will either be raised about 3" or a floor trough with a removable cover can be used to create a flush sill.
